Emma + Craig

Emma and I first crossed paths at The Wedding Harvest last year where we chatted about her hope to get married sometime the following year however she was unsure how to get started. Not long after the fair, Emma was in touch to arrange an official consultation to get the ball rolling and before we knew it, Emma and Craig were scheduled to be married at Black Bear Lodge the following September.

During our first meeting, the biggest issue Emma and Craig were facing was trying to decide where exactly to get married. They wanted a fun and intimate wedding without having to leave Brisbane and most importantly, they wanted it to feel like them. Black Bear Lodge didn’t just prove to be a good choice aesthetically, it was also a place they had frequented together often as a couple and seemed like a familiar space to hold their wedding.

Jump forward 7 months and the day was consistently all about Emma and Craig. The bride dressed in an incredible sequined gold gown with bright and vibrant florals, brownies instead of wedding cake and a champagne tower to replace cutting of the cake.

‘I met Danielle of Him & Her Events at the 2016 Wedding Harvest in Brisbane. I had been engaged for a couple of months and wanted to get married within the next 12 months however my partner and I were having difficulty finding a venue as all of the popular venues were booked or out of our budget. I spoke with Danielle for only 10 minutes or so but she was so helpful during this time that I decided to book in a consultation. During our 1 hour consultation, Danielle asked us about ourselves and what we wanted for our wedding day. The day following our consultation I received an email from Danielle with recommendations for when and where to have our wedding along with suggestions for catering, lighting, styling, celebrants, photographers and a rough budget! This was all just after one meeting! We were so impressed with Danielle that we decided to go with the partial planning package which included on the day coordination. Danielle was able to find us the most perfect venue within a few weeks, it was somewhere we loved visiting but having our wedding there didn’t even cross our minds as it wasn’t your typical wedding location. I never thought I would hire a wedding planner but it was the BEST decision we made for our wedding! What would usually be a stressful time, was super relaxed and enjoyable. Danielle had an answer to every question and a solution to every problem that came up! Danielle was always responsive and the benefits of having an industry professional on your team are endless. Our day was more perfect than we could have imagined and our guests still keep telling us how much they enjoyed our day.’
